I know it's hard for some of us to believe but this September marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Nevermind, the album that put Nirvana on the map and effectively started a movement.
To commemorate the album's 20th birthday Universal Records will release three different remastered editions of Nevermind. Universal will release a single-disc remastered edition, a two-CD Deluxe edition, and a four-CD Super Deluxe Edition. Now we can tell you what is included on these expanded editions besides the remastered album which is included in all editions.
The two-CD Deluxe Edition will feature studio and live B-sides, a set of demos recorded at producer Butch Vig's Smart Studios, boombox recordings of rehearsals, and a pair of previously unreleased BBC recordings.
The Super Deluxe four-CD Edition will include everything from the two-CD Deluxe Edition and in addition include the "Devonshire Mixes", a version of Nevermind produced and mixed entirely by Vig, as opposed to the final version where Vig which was produced by Andy Wallace instead. Super Deluxe four-CD Edition also includes a live show from Halloween '91 at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle on CD and DVD (The DVD includes all four videos from Nevermind) and a 90-page book.
In addition to the CDs available Nevermind will also be reissued digitally and on 4-LP 180-gram vinyl, too. The Paramount Theatre concert will also be available separately on DVD, Blu-ray, and digitally.
