Flaming Lips To Record 6 Hour Song

Have you ever wanted your name featured in a Flaming Lips song? Now you might get your chance if you're willing to shell out the dough in order to have your name mentioned in the 6 hour epic they're set to record.

The Flaming Lips have forever made part of their job to constantly innovate and some would say to out weird themselves at every opportunity. Now the Oklahoma rockers have done it again with the announcement that they intend to record a 6 hour song with the proceeds going to benefit the Central Oklahoma Humane Society and the Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma.

For a $100 donation, fans can have their name or the name of their choosing written into the lyrics of the song which is entitled "Found a Star on the Ground". If the band can successfully get enough participants to fill the 6 hours allotted for the song, that should amount for a huge charitable donation!
