The news has hit the street that Phish is ready to drop their first album in over five years on September 8th. For this album they're bringing back producer extraordinaire Steve Lillywhite (Dave Matthews Band, U2, Talking Heads), who has not worked with Phish since 1996’s fan favorite Billy Breathes.
This album is not only dropping in the standard CD, Download, & 180 Gram Vinyl forms; Phish is also bringing the heat with the release of the “Joy Box”. This deluxe limited edition version of Joy comes jam packed with the Joy CD plus 10 posters dedicated to each one of Joy’s 10 tracks, as well as a “complete second album” called Party Time. To freshen the deal even more, the Joy Box also includes a DVD featuring some of Phish’s ill live performances from the first half of 2009, including the band’s concerts from Boston’s Fenway Park and this year’s double-headlining Bonnaroo sets. At only $75, this set will no doubt be gone in a flash.
Joy In all of it’s forms as well as packages that include two different new T-shirts are currently available for pre-order through the Dry Goods section on Phish’s official site.
